Acrophylla wuelfingi  (Redtenbacher, 1908)

PSG. 13

Origin of culture stock: Australia

Sub Family: Phasmatinae

Foodplant in captivity:  Bramble, eucalyptus

Humidity requirements:

Comment:  A large and colourful species, apparently fairly easy to rear considering its size.  The particular individual photographed below was given to me as an adult so I don't have any experience of rearing the nymphs.  Interestingly, although this species is listed as being a sexual breeder in culture, this female was producing ova (parthenogenically).  I think they may be infertile ova, though, since they are now more than a year old and have not yet hatched.
